Olive pomace versus natural gas for methanol production: a life cycle assessment

Increasing demand for methanol production and global competition the use of natural resources are key issues in finding new environmentally routes production. In this work, life cycle assessment was performed using software SimaPro v9 to analyze environmental impact process from olive pomace compare with gas route. The main stages considered were production, oil extraction, addition, turn can be divided three processes: gasification, syngas purification, which also evaluated individually. Finally, impacts associated compared a conventional gas. This determined that had greater all categories studied except one related shortage fossil fuels. These results directly technical performance processes.
